11:30 Vinings Cumberland: Service Project in lieu of Meeting - Sack Pack - Lunches for Table on Delk For those who are available, we will kick off our Rotary Year 2026-27 with a Service Project! While we will not have a regular meeting in light of the Fourth of July, the needs in our community continue. We will meet at the Community Room at Fire Station No. 5 (park at Another Broken Egg) at 11:30 to pack 140 sack lunches for local children. These lunches will be immediately delivered to The Table on Delk! Food for school aged children over the summer is critical and, particularly during this holiday week, it's important that we help fill those gaps! Guest We are thrilled to announce that our guest speaker will be the Honorable Marilyn Morgan , who served with distinction as a federal bankruptcy judge . Throughout her career, she carried the immense weight of judicial responsibility, navigating complex legal cases to ensure fairness and provide a fresh start for those in financial distress . She joined the Rotary Club of San Jose in 1987, right at the historic moment when women were officially welcomed into the organization . While juggling the heavy demands of an aspiring legal career, she found profound balance and deeper meaning by giving back through Rotary service projects . She will be joining us to talk about "Your club, your way," sharing her incredible journey and offering insights on balancing professional ambitions with meaningful community impact.

Come a bit early Facilitation starts at 8. 7p Vinings Cumberland: Sack Pack - Lunches for Table on Delk Vinings Cumberland Rotarians invite the community to join them on the Second Tuesdays of the month to assemble lunch sacks (chips, sandwiches, etc.) that are distributed the next day by The Table on Delk to children getting off the school bus (during the school year) and through programming (during the summer) in the immediate vicinity of Delk Road and Interstate 75. The Table on Delk is committed to serving individuals at risk of sex-trafficking. Part of that mission includes addressing critical needs of mostly women and their young families to decrease that risk, desperation, and food insecurity. The Sack Pack is held in the Community Room at Fire Station No. 5 in Vinings (4336 Paces Ferry Road, Atlanta, GA 30339). Please park next store at Another Broken Egg (which will be closed at that time) and follow the sidewalk. Guest Cynthia served as President of the Rotary Club of Stone Mountain in 2013-2014 and 2020-2021. She is a Paul Harris Fellow. Cynthia currently serves as an Assistant Governor and is a 2023-2024 Emerging Leader. She is married to Dr. Lonnie J Edwards, Sr. and they have three children and six grandchildren. Cynthia is passionate about Rotary and community service. She has been recognized by the DeKalb Rotary Council for the 2021-2023 Outstanding Leadership Award and by the Rotary Club of Stone Mountain 2010 Rookie of the Year and 2023 “Show Rotary Cares” Award (Rotarian of the Year).
